Hey, I'm just your average dance parent juggling hairnets, snacks, lost socks and last-minute panics over who packed the safety pins (spoiler: it’s always me).
Be Ready to Dance started because I was tired of the chaos. After years of backstage scrambles, forgotten spoolies, and digging through bags for “the right pins” while my daughter perfected her arabesque, I realised I wasn’t alone. Dance parents everywhere are doing their best to stay organised — but let’s be honest, it’s a lot.
So, I created these boxes as a way to make life a bit easier. Not perfect. Not Pinterest-worthy. Just easier.
Each box is packed with the real stuff we actually use — bobby pins, bun bits, pants, socks and a few little extras that make you feel a bit more human on comp days. I’ve thought about what dancers need, but more importantly, what parents need — like a checklist, tissues, tea, and maybe a spare sweet to bribe a sibling.
My daughter is the reason I do this. Her passion keeps me going (and driving and packing and plaiting). And if I can help one other dance parent feel a little more prepared, a little more calm, and a little less like they are winging it — then it’s all been worth it.
Real life. Real dance. Real Dance Parents.
Let’s do it together — with snacks in one hand and a bun pin in the other.
